Repset Survey LLC is expanding our production capacity and is looking to establish relationships with experienced Survey CAD Technicians who can provide remote drafting support on a project-by-project basis.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced survey drafter who already has the equipment and software necessary to work independently and is interested in consistent opportunities to supplement their existing workload.

The Opportunity

We aren't looking for someone to independently solve boundary problems or take raw survey data and figure everything out from scratch. We handle the surveying.  You help us move the drafting across the finish line.

Projects assigned to our remote CAD contractors will typically have already undergone initial setup and professional review by Repset Survey.  Contractors can generally expect to receive a partially developed drawing—often approximately 30–40% complete—along with markups, supporting information, and clear drafting instructions identifying the work that remains. An experienced survey drafter should be able to step into the project, understand the instructions, efficiently complete the requested CAD production, perform a self-review, and return an organized drawing for our final review.

What You'll Be Doing

Typical assignments may include:

• Completing and refining partially prepared survey drawings

• Following graphical and written PSM markups

• Adding dimensions, bearings, distances, annotations, labels, symbols, and survey information

• Drafting improvements, easements, rights-of-way, monumentation, and other relevant features

• Maintaining established layers, styles, blocks, and drawing conventions

• Reviewing your own work before submission

• Communicating questions when something is unclear rather than making unsupported assumptions

• Making reasonable drafting revisions identified during final review

Who We're Looking For

This position is intended for someone who already understands land surveying CAD production.

Previous survey drafting experience is strongly preferred. You should be comfortable working with common survey terminology and information including plats, deeds, bearings and distances, property boundaries, easements, rights-of-way, monumentation, and improvements. Strong attention to detail is essential.

Repset Survey operates primarily in Autodesk Civil 3D, so Civil 3D experience is strongly preferred.

Florida surveying experience is a plus, but we are open to experienced survey drafters outside Florida who demonstrate strong technical ability and can adapt to our standards.

Work From Your Own Setup

This is a fully remote independent contractor opportunity.

Contractors are responsible for providing and maintaining their own:

• Computer and related equipment

• Reliable internet connection

• CAD/mapping software

• Valid software licenses

• Other resources necessary to complete assigned work

Repset Survey works almost exclusively in Autodesk Civil 3D. Contractors must be able to provide files that integrate properly with our Civil 3D production environment. Repset Survey does not provide Autodesk or other CAD software licenses to independent contractors.

Project-Based Compensation

This is not a traditional hourly or salaried position.

Assignments are offered individually, with compensation established per project based on the anticipated drafting effort and complexity. The project scope and compensation will be communicated before an assignment is accepted.Contractors may accept projects based on their availability. There are no guaranteed minimum hours or project quantities.Efficiency is valuable.  A contractor who becomes familiar with our standards and can produce accurate work efficiently benefits from the project-based compensation structure.

You Draft. We Make the Professional Decisions.

Repset Survey retains responsibility for boundary analysis, professional surveying determinations, final quality control, certification, signing, and sealing.  Our contractors provide CAD production support.

We want our drafters to ask questions when something doesn't look right—but we don't expect them to assume the professional responsibilities of the licensed surveyor.  Every drawing produced by a contractor remains a draft until it has completed Repset Survey's professional review process.
